This painting is not a sketch. It’s a rough draft… of an idea.
Acts 2:42
And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. I’ve often remarked that I do not make paintings because I have vision. I make paintings in order to find vision… to find clarity… to find expression where none has yet been articulated for me.
And I’m grateful for my guides along the way… friends, characters, siblings, children, symbols… all invigorated and choreographed by an Artist piecing together moments and relationships purposed to tell a better Story.
I’m compelled by the notion that this grand adventure all culminates with a family feast, where the King who served while he walked here with us, is now served by the ones he’s rescued… and all are satisfied.
So, why not start the party early?
It’s an idea.
